My Favorite Foods Equals My Favorite Diet
There are two basic types
of dieters. Type
1: Some dieters
just decide to go on a diet with no plan in mind. Type
II: Some dieters
pick out a diet plan.
One of the first things
that the Type II dieter does is check out the diet menu
that they'll be eating throughout the weight loss process.
On the other hand, Type I dieters are lost in diet space
- not knowing what they should eat, or how much they
should eat. Let's see if we can bring these two
diet types together, shall we?
Whether most of us want
to accept it or not, the current manner in which diets
are carried out isn't working, with obesity reaching
new levels each day. So while the Type 1 dieter
may not know which foods to eat, and while the Type
II dieter is curious to learn the foods in their new
diet plan - both may do best by looking no further than
their own Diet Backyard. Sounds a little Oz, doesn't
it?
Here's why.... When
we deter too far away from Diet Home, we have higher
odds of getting lost on the Diet Path - even when we've
got a diet plan in place. Of course, the further
we travel down the Diet Path while remaining on our
new, improved diet, the more our Diet Confidence builds.
Unfortunately, most dieters don't last that long
on the Diet Path. They grow weary of unusual foods,
boring foods, bland foods, sometimes strange and exotic
foods and they take the fast lane leading off the Diet
Path to Diet Destruction.
The Type I dieters typically
eat the foods in their current diet (i.e. mostly favorite
foods) but their willpower wanes quickly. It's
difficult fending off our favorite goodies - and therein
lies the Big Diet Problem. Type I dieters must
get control and keep on dieting until the weight is
gone, and then work to keep weight gain from returning.
So we have Type I dieters
needing to lasso control, and Type II dieters who need
to find a way to insert favorite foods into their diet
so they'll continue to remain in control. Perhaps
a good solution in helping all dieters spend more time
dieting than not, would be to include favorite foods
in their diet plan as well as encourage the following:
- Revise recipes to
include healthier ingredients.
- Make it a practice
to enjoy those favorite 'sinful' goodies now and
then, but also learn to reach for a natural treat
most of the time.
- Celebrations are
one of the major roots of weight gain, so there
is a need for dieters to plan ahead for these events
- not only financially and socially, but also in
the area of diet.
We've got a long way
to go before we learn about everything that makes us
tick, but this is a good start in the area of diet,
weight loss and control. Simply put, our favorite
foods equal our favorite diet.
