Kangaroo Tea & Orange Scones
Ingredients for this delicious Weight Loss Tea
- 32 ounces of hot water
- 3-4 tea bags - regular flavored tea, depending on how strong you like your tea
- 1/2 lemon seeded
- no calorie sweetener (you decide the amount and brand)
- 1 Tablespoon of rum extract (or more to your personal taste buds)
Heat the water until steaming, then remove from fire. Add tea bags and the lemon and allow to steep (covered) about 5 minutes. Remove bags and lemon. Add rum. Sweeten to taste.
- Ingredients for Low Fat Orange Scones - Makes 1 dozen for about 175 calories each.
- 3 Cups of White Flour
- 1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder
- 1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
- ¼ Cup of REAL Sugar
- 12 Packets of No Calorie Sweetener
- 2 Tablespoons of Finely Grated Orange Peel
- ¼ Cup of Finely Chopped Pecans
- ½ Stick of Margarine
- ¼ Cup of No Calorie Refrigerated Butter Spray
- 1 ½ Cups of skim Milk
- 2 Tablespoons of Vinegar
- 1 Teaspoon of REAL Vanilla Extract
- 1 Beaten Egg
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. In the meantime, bring out two mixing bowls. Mix all of the dry ingredients in one bowl. In the other bowl, pour in the milk & vinegar.
Next, add the remaining wet ingredients, except the 1 beaten egg. This will be used to add luster to the scones as they bake.
Incorporate wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Briefly knead on a lightly floured surface then tap down till they reach a height of about 1 inch. Cut into triangles. Re-roll leftover dough &
cut into more triangles. Place on an ungreased baking sheet & brush with thy egg mixture. Pop into preheated oven & bake till done, about 10 – 12 minutes.
Lemon Scones – Simply substitute orange peel for lemon peel & vanilla for 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice.
