Quick Pumpkin Soup for Dieters

One of the easiest recipes for pumpkin soup - and very nice when it comes to calorie content.

Simply heat the following ingredients until warm, then stir and enjoy with a crusty loaf of whole grain bread:

- 1 can of pumpkin

- 1 Teaspoon of ground cinnamon

- dash of ground cloves

- 2 cups of skim milk

Raw pumpkin is naturally low in calories and contains so many health notes. If you have time to prepare pumpkin from scratch, you're in for a treat. The most difficult part of the preparation is cutting into the thick skin of the pumpkin to reach the flesh. You'll need to be extremely carefully. A warm pumpkin that is picked fresh from the garden is easier to cut into than a cold one.

Scoop out the seeds and thoroughly scrape all the membrane from the flesh. After cutting the pumpkin into workable sections I remove the skin from the flesh and thoroughly wash before putting into a deep pot of cool water. Boil until the pumpkin is tender.

Whether you use a large fairytale type pumpkin or a pie pumpkin, all varieties work excellently in our diet soup recipe.
