Basic Pasta Recipe
Making Your Own Pasta: It's so simple to make homemade pasta - and very inexpensive.
And you can add spices to your pasta to take it up a notch. Here is the basic recipe: 1 cup of all purpose flour, 1 egg that has been slightly beaten, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of olive oil, and water. Combine the flour and salt, then add the egg and oil; add water if/as needed.
Kneed dough for a couple of minutes, then roll out or run through a pasta machine.
If you choose to roll out the dough, cut pasta into strips with a sharp knife, or use a cutter with a pattern if shapes are desired. Entire recipe contains about 600 calories and makes about 3 servings.
