Managing a Healthy Daily Diet on a Limited Budget
Beef Tacos
Our beef tacos are ultra easy and take only a few minutes to make. Rather than that salty expensive taco seasoning mix, we add our own spices.
Using the leanest beef possible will of course, save you the most calories and fat grams, but if you're budget is leaner than your ground beef - then any ground beef will do.
Simply brown ground beef on the stove top and drain off the juices. Add chili powder and cumin to suit your personal taste. Also add salt and pepper if desired. Add 1/4 cup of water and when taco meat is bubbly, remove and transfer to the taco shells which have been warmed (in the microwave or in your oven).
Top with salad mixture, a bit of cheese and salsa if desired.
To prepare beef tacos you will need:
1 pound of ground beef
12 taco shells
chopped lettuce, tomatoes & onions
salsa
grated cheese
chili powder
ground cumin (optional)
Other toppings that go great with beef tacos include: light sour cream, salsa, picante sauce, jalapeno peppers.
