Stuff Me Celery - Holiday Appetizer Recipes for Dieters

A simple recipe is a host's or hostess' friendly pal amid the bustle of the holiday rush. But simplifying doesn't always require a sacrifice of taste. Such is the case with our simple, diet recipe for Stuff Me Celery. Be sure to see our tip below for super-marveling spreadability.

 

You will need the following ingredients for this diet-wise recipe:

1 stalk of celery of celery sticks, washed, trimmed, cut-into-sticks with the strings removed

1 container of WHIPPED cream cheese (not low fat which we feel sacrifices too much flavor)

A handful of dried cranberries + a teaspoon of chopped walnuts.

 

Simply mix the cranberries and walnuts into the cream cheese and fill celery sticks.

 

This recipe is so versatile and the best part (outside of it being almost too-simple) is that one can personalize the flavors and make it their own creation. A bit like the Frankenstein monster - without the Frank, but with monster-taste. (That's a good thing.) Rather than opting for cranberries and walnuts, simply choose any of the following ingredients and chop. Then mix into the cream cheese. Smear a bit onto a celery stick and you've got a beautiful, quick, dieter's appetizer that's good for 'anytime entertaining'.

 

A handful of any of the following: black olives, green olives, pimentos, dried pineapple - chopped, golden raisins, chopped almonds or pecans, fresh or dried parsley, other favorite fresh or dried spices that will complement your flavors.

 

Tip: Wipe the celery sticks DRY with a paper towel and mixture will spread on ultra easy.
