  • Desserts rule during the holidays and often contain more calories than the holiday-dinner itself. Limit yourself to 1 or 2 desserts.
  • If you find that you must try more than 2 desserts on that special holiday, then opt for tiny slices of several desserts.
  • Choose to forego second helpings - no matter how tasty.
  • Eat slowly and enjoy your meal. If you are amid a crowd, it's easy to eat too much and not even realize what you ate!
  • Watch the gravy, the cranberry sauce (a can contains about 600 calories) and the stuffing.
  • A serving of stuffing is generally about 1/2 cup.

  • Enjoy spring water with lemon OR unsweetened tea or diet-wise soda as a beverage.
