Bar Maid Buttermilk Pie ©
Serves 8 generously for about 235 calories each
A delectable pie for Lords & Ladies alike. The rich surge of buttermilk,
essence of lemon, a throb of REAL sugar all meet at the fork of Tine & Dine.
- Ingredients
for Low Fat, Low Calorie Recipe
- ½ Cup of White Flour
- ½ Cup of Light Buttermilk
- 2 Tablespoons of Lemon Extract
- 1 Teaspoon of Lemon Peel, Finely Grated
- ½ Cup of REAL Sugar
- ½ Cup of No Calorie Refrigerated Butter Spray
- ½ Stick Margarine
- 15 Packets of No Calorie Sweetener
- ¾ Cartonof Egg Substitute
- 1 Unbaked Pie Shell
If you are out of buttermilk, make the own by adding a spoon or two of vinegar
to the skimmed milk.
To the buttermilk add the lemon extract, the butter spray, the margarine,
the egg substitute, the sweeteners & the lemon peel. Melt margarine
& add to the bowl.
Slowly incorporate the flour. Pour rich mixture into the unbaked pie
shell.
Bake in a 375 degree preheated oven for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to 350
degrees & bake until knife inserted in centre of pie comes out clean – about
half an hour.
