Arrow Addam’s Apple Dumplings

Serves 6 generously for about 300 calories each
To make Arrow Addam’s Apple Dumplings a bit more savage, consider adding
a few droplets of Rum Extract to the filling.
Or, add some Dried fruits to the goody. Ground cloves & ground
ginger also delivers a new taste to this luscious treat.
Ingredients for Low Fat,
Low Calorie Recipe
- 6 Small Baking Apples
- ½ Cup of No Calorie Refrigerated Butter Spray
- ½ Cup of Light Brown Sugar
- ¼ Cup of Chopped Pecans or Walnuts
- 1 Tablespoon of Ground Cinnamon
- 1 Pre-Made Piecrust
- 2 Egg Whites, Gently Stirred
- Non-Stick Cooking Spray
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Whilst oven heats, wash & dry
the apples. Next, core the apples til they can look thru them as the would’st
a telescope.
In a small bowl mix together the butter, the brown sugar, the nuts &
the cinnamon. Fill apples with this special, tasty filling & set aside.
Roll out the pre-made piecrust on a wooden board that hath been dusted with
a tab of flour.
With a sharp knife, divide the dough into six pieces. Roll the dough
using the hands into six round circles.
Next, place each circle on the board & re-roll. Dough will be very
thin.
Place a filled apple onto the circle of dough. Wrap the apple &
seal by pinching dough as thou works. If the hath extra dough, cut out
a leaf & place at the top of the dumpling.
Brush dumplings with the white of a hen’s egg to create shine.
Next, place apples on a pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Pop
into the oven & bake until golden.
the may’st also enjoy this recipe by skipping the dough covering. If
so, subtract 125 calories per apple. Bake in preheated oven til tender
at 350 degrees.
