- 3 Cups of White Flour
- 1 Teaspoon of Baking Powder
- 1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
- ¼ Cup of REAL Sugar
- 12 Packets of No Calorie Sweetener
- 2 Tablespoons of Finely Grated Orange Peel
- ¼ Cup of Finely Chopped Pecans
- ½ Stick of Margarine
- ¼ Cup of No Calorie Refrigerated Butter Spray
- 1 ½ Cups of Skimmed Milk
- 2 Tablespoons of Vinegar
- 1 Teaspoon of REAL Vanilla Extract
- 1 Beaten Hen Egg
Preheat the oven to a smart 425 degrees. In the meanwhilst, bring out
two mixing bowls. Mix all of the dry ingredients in one bowl. In
the other bowl, pour in the milk & vinegar. Next, add the remaining
wet ingredients, except the 1 beaten hen egg. This will be used to add
luster to the scones as they bake.
Incorporate wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
Briefly knead on a lightly floured surface then tap down until the reach a
height of about 1 inch. Cut into triangles. Re-roll leftover dough
& cut into more triangles.
Place on an ungreased baking sheet & brush with the egg mixture. Pop
into the preheated oven & bake until done, about 10 – 12 minutes.
Lemon Scones – Simply substitute orange peel for lemon peel & vanilla
for 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice.
