Feeling a little down because your last diet plan didn't pan out? All that work, with little or no results? It can make one's day a bit blue and dreary. The post-dieter might feel very down - very disappointed. Or they may not even care to ponder the matter until they decide it's time to go on a weight loss plan again. So if you're currently feeling like a Diet Failure, where should you go from here? Should you just forget all about losing weight because weight loss just isn't going to happen? NO! You've got to get right back on that Diet Horse before you get cold feet. Here are a few tips that might help with your next weight loss diet:
Weight Loss & Attitude - It may sound corny, but a positive attitude goes a very long way in making us feel good and can even help us accomplish things in our lives that we may have never imagined possible. The power of a positive attitude is priceless when it comes to weight loss. We may start out on our diet plan all excited - with rings on our fingers and bells on our toes. But a few days into the diet plan, we become easily frustrated with the weight loss process. Too much time! Foods are bland and boring! And we hate the exercise! At this point, we have a choice. We can either toss our healthy diet into the Diet Trash Can OR we can switch our negative situation into a positive one. My mom used to tell me as a child, "Can't never did anything." Try to think, "I CAN do this healthy diet plan. I CAN lose those extra pounds and achieve better health. And I WILL!" Weight Loss & Fitness - Being fit doesn't necessarily guarantee a level of healthiness. 'Weighty Matters' is the flip-side of The Fitness Factor. Working out, running, biking, hiking, shooting hoops, mowing the yard - all of these activities are great for getting the body in mint condition. But exercise alone isn't enough to ensure optimum health. One must also take care in eating a balanced diet. Here are a few more dieting suggestions for weight loss and fitness:
Fitness Factor - Weight Loss - Being thin doesn't guarantee a healthy body. Neither does performing a herd of sweat making, gut-wrenching exercise. The key to optimum health is The Fitness Factor - the ability to find a happy medium that keeps your body in tune both physically and mentally. Map out your personal fitness program. How? Start out SLOWLY. In a SAFE area, try walking either early in the morning or in the evenings for about 15 to 20 minutes at your personal pace. Walk at a rate that gets your heart rate up - but don't walk so fast that you can feel your heart beating out of your body. Or, shoot some hoops, go skating, ride a bike - anything that you like to do to keep you moving at a rate that will strengthen your body, and in turn promote that healthy level of fitness that can add years to your life. Activity builds muscle and strengthens the body. Activity will yield stronger lungs, a strong heart and your level of endurance. A perk? Activity burns calories! A Diet Pep-Talk - Dieters crave the same support - whether it's from their family, friends or co-workers. Noticing that they look a bit thinner each day gives a boost to the determined spirit. However, if you're trying to drop those extra pounds and you don't have a pep squad encouraging you on, be sure to pause and congratulate yourself for a job well done. So many times we get lost in focusing on the negative points of our lives - such as, "I'm so fat and unattractive" rather than, "My oh my, I just drop-kicked five pounds! Way to go!" Go for the Diet Touchdown but keep in mind that there will be good days, and there will be bad days. The important thing is to keep on the Diet Team until all those extra pounds are gone.
