How To Lose Weight - Step by Step - Weight Loss Step #6
Time to bundle-up a few 'foodnotes' that can greatly impact the success or failure of your weight loss plan.
1. Oh those little additives. A healthy baked potato can go from Diet Angel to Diet Beast when drowned in butter, sauces, salt, sour cream, bacon bits and other No-Goody-2-Shoes.
Keep in mind that almost ALL foods in their natural state are low in calories. It's what we do to them that influences and increases the overall calories and fat content.
2. Motivation to lose weight. As long as an individual has Diet Motivation, they WILL lose all the unwanted weight, they WILL succeed at weight loss, they WILL achieve a healthier body and all the great things that accompany the benefits of weight loss. But being human, we tend to get really excited about things - then once the 'work' begins, we tire easily. So be patient, stick with your weight loss plan, and you will divide & conquer!
3. Dieting & Vitamins. Although we hold zero faith in the claims of so-called 'Weight Loss Vitamins', taking a multi-vitamin while on a restricted diet may help in assuring the necessary nutrition your body requires. We highly recommend that individuals receive their vitamins and minerals from food sources, but when dieting, that may be very difficult at times. Studies are slowly proving our thoughts in regards to vitamin supplements. Too much of a good thing can end up creating major health woes.
4. Weight Loss Supplements & Pills. Always meet with your doctor to discuss weight loss supplements before incorporating them into your weight loss plan. Some may present serious health risks. In addition, they cannot melt off pounds. Weight loss occurs through a decrease in energy (calorie) intake; it can also be accomplished through an increase in activity, and at times, a serious illness can prompt weight loss.
5. A Doable Weight Loss Plan. It's great to lose those unwanted pounds, but when an individuals sets their weight loss goals too high and expects far too much in too short of time, they are apt to feel discouraged. Keep your weight loss plan doable.
6. Commercial Weight Loss Plans. There are many very good weight loss plans on the market. Look for those that embrace all food groups, that advise moderate activity, and that best meet your personal schedule as well as your personal food preferences. Never go on a specialized weight loss plan - such as a carb-restricted diet without first meeting with your doctor. Why so? Such plans can prove fatal to some individuals such as those with hidden heart conditions, or who have diabetes.
7. One-Food OR Theme Based OR Popular Weight Loss Plans, particularly those advertised by the Hollywood stars. Let's face it. Stars get paid to plugged products. And how probable is it that when the average Joe or Joette goes on the same weight loss program that they will receive the same attention as a star being paid to lose weight? Therefore, use your noggin' before picking up the phone and ordering. Needless to say, the proof is in the pudding. Even the stars can quickly regain the lost weight when they go unmonitored.
