With cell phones covering almost every inch of the universe these days, many of us are finding that we are spending more time than ever on the phone. It's difficult to be active during a phone chat - and even if you do manage to get in a few hip thrusts and jumping  jacks, the person at the other end of the line may assume that they have dialed up a 900 number rather than a friend or family member.

Phone chat indeed contributes to inactive minutes (sometimes adding up to inactive hours), and inactive minutes translates to a bad connection when it comes to weight loss and overall health benefits. In fact, heavy phone chatters may be adding up not only minutes, but unwanted pounds.

In addition to the chatting aspect, phone chatters may find that they enjoy snacking while romancing the phone. Those extra calories combined with long periods of inactivity contribute to body roll-overs. It's not pretty, especially when it happens to you. Here are some super tips from the Weight Loss Goddess to help balance Phone Time and Quality Time.

Better yet - meet for a game of golf, or bowling, or shooting hoops. Meet to enjoy a special project together - even puzzle-solving is better for the body than dormant Phone Chat.

During break time at work, get up and move around. Take a brisk walk - even if it's only a couple of minutes, it's better than sitting.

Relaxation to Balance Activity for Optimum Health

Relaxation is vital to your health and well-being. If you are a Weight Loss Goddess that spends your free time chasing the kids, monitoring the pets, performing most of the housekeeping chores, overseeing the family budget, filling the pantry and closets with food and clothing - then you are one overworked Weight Loss Goddess!

When is the last time that you were able to sit down and read a book? What about watched a program without being disturbed by the kids, the family pet, the neighbors, a family member, a friend or the phone? Long time, eh?  

Most Weight Loss Goddesses that have children virtually place their lives on hold until the child/children are grown. In other words, they wait to live. Not fair!

If this sounds all too familiar, you MUST find some alone time - some time to relax. If not, you'll be more apt to fall into cranky moods (better known as PMS), to become depressed and to get ill. Not enough 'relaxing time' may even create a situation for weight gain.  Gasp!  

Even if you must hire a sitter for the evening, or for an afternoon, then do that! And don't feel guilty about relaxing because you certainly NEED that time. Here are some suggestions that might help you prepare:

Weight Loss & The Exercise Factor

Many people tend to believe that exercise is comprised of much huffing and puffing. What a crock!  Every little thing that you do through movement translates to 'bursts of exercise'. Any activity that you incorporate into your daily schedule is effective in keeping your body in a healthier stance. Simply moving makes you feel better!

YES - our Goddess Bodies do require aerobic exercise to strengthen our hearts, our muscles and our tushies. So the more involved that you become with say....a 15 minute brisk walk - the stronger and more efficient your body becomes. Standing burns more calories than sitting, sitting burns more calories than laying down - and so forth. However, be mindful that many ungoddess-like men have sown this false seed: "Having sex burns up a tremendous amount of calories."  Yes, sex does burn calories, but the amount is minimal and sex must be intense. Of course, you're a Weight Loss Goddess, and sex is always intense, right? Right.

When Exercise Isn't So Much Fun

Unlike men, women cycle. Men can cycle, but require an apparatus to do such. When the Weight Loss Goddess cycles, participating in ultra strenuous exercise will generally make her 'flow' flow more. In fact, many years ago, it was known as The Great Flood. Therefore, exercising during 'cycle time' should be done on a Goddess-to-Goddess basis. Some claim that it helps them conquer their period sooner while others claim that it prolongs the cycle. So again, it's a personal call in this area. Moderate exercise is generally safe exercise.

Why Moderate Exercise Is Best

And all around, moderate exercise is much kinder on the body than Huff-Puff Exercising. Your knees will last longer, your breasts will be more apt to stay in one place rather than drop to your knees, your feet will encumber fewer blisters and you'll be more apt to stick with your exercise program. Ten to fifteen minutes per day, walking around your block - or at a nearby mall, or a safe park will get your blood pumping.

At home, a few toning exercises will pull everything together so you can be all the Goddess that you can be. Just keep in mind that even small movements throughout your day add up to big health benefits.
