Weight Gain Caused by Celebrations

My dear old mother used to say that she gained ten pounds every year when the Christmas holidays rolled around.  And after hearing that I began to notice the people that I was around and sure enough, it appeared that right after the holidays, most were having difficultly fitting into the duds they had received as Christmas presents.

And it's not only the holidays - it's vacations, office parties, birthday parties, promotion celebrations, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Valentine's Day, Independence Day - and so forth.  We spend more time celebrating these days than ever - probably due to the pesky greetings card people who seemed to have created a holiday for everything under the sun.

In Summary

If you notice that you seem to put on weight following a celebratory event, keep that in mind the next time a special occasion rolls around.

Becoming mindful of what we eat when we're happy or surrounded by others is key to controlling and managing weighty issues so that they don't become an even bigger problem.

Please meet with your personal physician to determine and/or verify the cause of weight gain.  With so many solutions available these days, weight gain is getting much easier to accomplish.
