Weight Gain Caused by Inactivity
Weight gain is
more likely to be caused by overeating than inactivity,
but inactivity can take weight gain over the top so
that it registers on the weight scales.
In addition, a
body that isn't in motion generally is in great need
of rejuvenating. Take note the next time that
you get in adequate exercise and see how you feel -
after the soreness has passed, that is. Fact is,
we simply feel better when we move, and moving not only
expends calories, it helps regulate our weight. A
few more goodies:
- muscle weighs
more than fat
- muscle takes
more calories than fat (i.e. eat more)
- exercise promotes
a toned, healthier body
In Summary
Although weight
gain is more apt to be caused by overeating than inactivity,
our bodies are simply out of balance without a good
dose of healthy exercise.
Search for activities
that you'll enjoy doing day in and day out. Make
your activity time last a life time - and your life
time may be a lot longer.
Please meet with your personal
physician to determine and/or verify the cause of weight
gain. With so many solutions available these days,
weight gain is getting much easier to accomplish.
