Weight Gain Caused by Medications

If you are taking an over the counter OR a medication prescribed by your doctor and experience weight gain, you'll want to inform them of such as soon as possible.

A few of the more common medication causing weight gain include:

- Steroids

- NSAID'S - non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs

- Oral contraceptives

- Hormone replacement medications

- Diabetic medications

- Antidepressants

In Summary

You'll want to discuss your weight gain with your doctor to ensure that the medication is indeed the culprit of weight gain.

Never automatically stop taking a medication prescribed by your doctor until contacting them first as sudden withdrawal may cause more serious problems.

Please meet with your personal physician to determine and/or verify the cause of weight gain.  With so many solutions available these days, weight gain is getting much easier to accomplish.
