Review
of The Popcorn
Diet

This content
is for informational & reading purposes only.
Although low in calories,
popcorn
is not the ticket to weight loss success when based on the popular fad diet, The Popcorn Diet. One food diets, as well as diets which are too restrictive in calories, increase health risks to the point that they out-weigh any benefits associated with weight loss accomplished throughout the fad dieting process.
Popcorn's good points:
- Popcorn is high in
dietary fiber (0.9 grams per cup).
- Hot-air popcorn is
ultra low in calories and fat.
- Popcorn is available
in several varieties, including gourmet, at most markets.
Popcorn Negatives:
- When popped in oil, popcorn
can contain more fat, more calories than greasy
chips.
- Popcorn can be extreme in sodium
when salted.
- Hot air popcorn - although
low in calories at about 23 calories per cup, can
taste a bit boring. So...we began to look for ways
to improve the flavor, like adding butter.
- Corn is a common
allergen.
In Summary:
Although popcorn can be a asset to your diet and help you reach those weight loss goals,
we cannot recommend The Popcorn Diet which tends to
be restrictive.
