The South Beach Diet is all the rage in Diet Mania these days. Is it safe? Will you see results? LONG term results?

If you are thinking about trying The South Beach Diet, then read forward and onward. It may, or may not be your Cup of Diet Tea.

The South Beach Diet has been heavily touted by Big Boys 'Prevention Magazine' and given my prior experience, these folks have always been a very trustworthy source in regards to nutritional information. Though I have some Nutritional Doubts surrounding the South Beach Diet Plan, many people have achieved great Diet Success with the diet. The following is a capsule of these doubts and some information regarding the diet plan:

The South Beach Diet's foundation appears to rest on the breast of science; but it may be more of a pseudo-scientific concoction that baits the dieter with scientific impressions. Why? It seems that everyone's into scientifically-based diets these days, so that 'Scientific Impression' lends faith in the Diet World.

 

The name of the diet makes one envision laying on a sandy beach in a polka-dot bikini, doesn't it?  Most everyone adores the beach. It's the one place where skin is in.  Where else could you legally view someone dressed in over-priced outfits that don't have enough material to make a proper pair of hiney-binders for a mouse?  The thong is certainly NOT an outfit that anyone would want to sit Indian-style in, at least not without formally being introduced to a razor.  So, with all this said, it's got a very kicky name: The South Beach Diet.

Wonder why it wasn't named The West Beach Diet?  Or The East Beach Diet? Or the North Beach Diet?  Yes, one would definitely want to go south to find a good beach. So the name of the diet is definitely a 'draw'.

The South Beach Diet Plan is a ketogenic diet which severely restricts carbs in the diet. The initial weight loss on the scales is probably indicative of 'slight' dehydration. Once carbs are reintroduced into the diet, WHAMO and PING - up, up, up goes the numbers on the scales - if this is indeed the case with the diet.

And now we must address the 'weight loss claims' surrounding the diet, because although it sounds ultra cool to be on The South Beach Diet Plan, one must ask, "What's the bottom line? What is this diet going to do for me?"

The claim is that you can lose 13 pounds or more in two weeks.

"Oh my, where's my over-extended credit card?"
